EVENT DETAILS 

All art entered into the show will be displayed at the Batesville Memorial Public Library from May 30 to June 30. Winners of the Community Art Show will be publicly recognized during the awards presentation held at Batesville Memorial Public Library on June 26 at 7:00 p.m. and online at baacindiana.org. 

IMPORTANT DATES 

May 29, 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. 

Entry deadline. Deliver work to Batesville Memorial Public Library (131 N Walnut St.) 

May 30 to June 30 

Voting for People’s Choice is open all month until 6:45 p.m. on June 30. 

June 26, 6:30 p.m.  

Art show reception. Winners will be announced at 7 p.m. 

June 30, 5:30 p.m. - 7 p.m. 

Artwork must be picked up from BMPL. 

CASH PRIZES 

Cash prizes will be awarded in the categories of fine arts 2D, fine arts 3D, applied arts, poetry, and photography. 

Best of Show* ................. $400 

1st Place* .......................... $300 

2nd Place* ......................... $150 

People’s Choice Award ......... Priceless 

*There must be at least 4 entries in each category for prize eligibility. Please encourage other artists to enter! If we do not have a minimum of 4 entries in a category, we will not be able to award prizes for that category.

Registration Document

  1. Download, complete, and sign entry form. Do not submit online.
  2. Enclose entry fee $25.00 (nonrefundable).
  3. Return completed form when delivering artwork Thursday, May 29th.
  4. All work will be professionally judged based upon creativity, composition, content, technique, and presentation.
  5. Each artist must deliver his/her own work to Batesville Memorial Public Library on Thursday, May 29th between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m.
  6. All artwork should be picked up on Monday, June 30th between 5:30 and 7:00 p.m. Please contact Joe Kendall if you need to make other arrangements, especially if you need a different pick up time. Please do not remove artwork before these times.

Rules: 

  • Artist must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Artist must be one of the following: A resident of Ripley, Fayette, Franklin, Decatur, Dearborn or Switzerland County in Indiana. OR a member of the BAAC. OR have donated to the BAAC Art Auction in the past.
  • Entry submitted must be an original and recent work preferably completed within the last year.
  • Artists can enter in multiple categories. Artists may only enter one piece per category.
  • Entry cannot have been entered in previous BAAC events.
  • Water features cannot be accepted.
  • BAAC has the right to refuse art deemed inappropriate.
  • All participants must be willing to display artwork for the designated time frame and agree to transport the art to/from Batesville Memorial Public Library.
  • Artist must pay $25.00 nonrefundable fee per entry.
  • Artwork must be ready to be displayed with either mat, wire, or framed.
  • If possible, please omit your name from the artwork.
